Advanced Web Ranking – The SEO Tool Kit

Having been an SEO specialist for the last 5 years I have used many tools for monitoring my sites performance and the performance of my competitors, from the range of tools that I have used I cant say there has been any tools that I have paid for that has repaid my investment apart from Advanced Web Ranking. Very cliché I know as there are many reviews out there for this product and I don’t normally use my blog to review anything, but having used AWR for the last 2 years I felt compelled to speak up in support of the products ability as website positioning software. Especially when I hear colleagues and industry fellows talking about the joys of its main competitor Web-CEO, which I have used and can honestly say is not a patch on Advanced Web Ranking.

Prototyping user experience with comics

I listened to a podcast on Boxes and Arrows featuring Tom Wailes of Yahoo! describing how he and his team use comics to prototype user experience. This sparked my interest; I have been experimenting with the process and trying to find as many resources of using comics for prototyping as I can get my hands on. What I found appealing about prototyping with comics is that it puts the focus on the experience for the user rather than putting all the emphasis on the design structure of the website or application.

Blogiquette: Effective communication through a Blog

I have been looking through my Google Analytics and the hot topic on my Web site is Blog etiquette. People want to know how to be effective in their communications through a Blog and what the etiquette is in doing so. Back in February 2008 I wrote a post titled Blog Etiquette where I discussed my personal rules in upkeeping a Blog and mentioned some rules that the general Blogosphere abide by. This page is regularly visited and is ranking well within Google.
